Description and tasks

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Account Director to lead our passenger car customer segment. As the Account Director, you will be responsible for managing key customer relationships, overseeing sales and account management activities, and driving business development initiatives within the passenger vehicle sector. You have a management role with Key Account Managers as direct reports and you will report to the VP Sales Europe.

The position can be placed in either Sweden, Germany, Poland or UK.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for OEM Passenger vehicles 20% of current revenue with growth targets
  • Focused responsibility for traditional OEM passenger car customers
  • Develop identified strategic OEM customers
  • Investigate potential additional OEM customers
  • Oversee Sales, Account Management- planning budgets  and activities and Back office functions for the defined sector
  • Achieve sales objectives, delivering on KPI´s and leading counteractions if growth is off track
  • Track weekly/monthly sales KPI´s, understand potential deviations and proactively develop a plan forward to overcome gaps and barriers. 
  • Build strong relationships with key growth customers to drive the business development.
  • Focus on key disciplines within the customer such as Purchasing,
  • Engineering and Quality
  • Develop and execute our European customer strategy
  • Maintain constant knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, and customer strategies.
  • Maintain a standardized, cooperative and competitive work environment through team building, training, and motivation
  • Implement in corporation with HR initiatives to develop and mentor key leaders and talents in the organization to support growth initiatives

Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • More than 10 years working experience from a managerial position
  • Experience of working with automotive OEM customers
  • University degree
  • Knowledge of the fastener industry desirable
  • Experience in managing a business unit P&L
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization with multi-cultural team, as well as customers
  • Experience in leadership: Understanding how to work together and motivate sales teams and more in general interact with wide range of functions and people (customers, Sales, HR, Innovation Teams, different cultures & countries)
  • Establish and maintain a personal network with key persons within customers and local partners
  • Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Willingness to travel as needed
