Description and tasks

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Development Manager to lead and organize the development of Bulten Europe’s Operational Efficiency. In this role, you will drive programs for the realization of the Operations strategy while supporting site activities with the same purpose.

As an Operations Development Manager you report to Vice President Operations Europe and the position can be based in either Hallstahammar or Gothenburg.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Lead and organize the development and maintenance of Bulten Manufacturing strategy, including:
     - Conducting competitive benchmarking (internal and external)
     - Managing the Bulten Production System
     - Optimizing asset utilization and footprint
     - Setting lean metrics and targets
     - Planning and overseeing plant upgrades
     - Planning capital expenditures (CAPEX)
     - Developing and implementing make/buy strategies
• Drive and support the continual improvement process within site operations and MP&L areas.
• Develop standards for equipment to ensure inter-operational flexibility.
• Track plant progress against metrics and targets; support the development and execution of Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions (CA/PAs) to address variances.
• Drive the implementation of the Bulten Production System across all European plants.
• Lead make/buy analysis and facilitate decisions on the allocation of new parts and the transfer of existing parts to and from Bulten’s plants.
• Act as the operations gatekeeper and facilitator for processing new quotes from sales teams.
• Safeguard an effective Sales and Operational Planning process throughout Europe.
• Lead industrial projects as required.
• Actively participate in the Operations leadership team.
• Develop the organization and its people to maximize results and make Bulten an attractive workplace.

Candidate Profile

• BSc or MSc in Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Proven experience in operational efficiency and strategy development
• Ability to drive continuous improvement processes
• Experience with lean manufacturing and production systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
