Are you a skilled and commercially driven purchasing professional looking for an exciting opportunity to influence a global business's success? We are currently seeking a Commodity Manager to join Bulten, where you will play a key role in securing competitive pricing, optimizing productivity, and developing strong supplier relationships. In this role, you will track key performance indicators, lead negotiations, and ensure our suppliers meet Bulten’s standards for quality, sustainability, and logistics.
Reporting directly to the VP Purchasing for Direct Materials, you will manage purchasing activities in line with our supplier and purchasing strategies. The position is based in Birmingham.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Track and report progress towards key performance indicators (KPIs) such as purchase savings, raw material pricing, shipping costs, and payment terms.
- Represent Bulten internally and externally in commercial purchasing matters and act as an escalation point when necessary.
- Lead and drive Commodity Business Plan development and execution within your commodity responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities with selected suppliers in line with company purchasing and supplier strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor potential suppliers to ensure alignment with Bulten’s standards for quality, sustainability, and logistics.
- Conduct benchmarking to assess supplier competitiveness.
- Negotiate and finalize commercial agreements in compliance with company policies and budgets.
- Support supplier base reduction and consolidate volumes towards strategic and preferred suppliers.
- Lead and manage projects aimed at improving profitability and optimizing total landed costs.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure smooth operations and create added value.
- Ensure compliance with Bulten requirements in areas such as quality, sustainability and logistics.
